ARCHIVED: On my HP LaserJet Series II printer, how do I change the settings?

To change the settings on your HP LaserJet Series II printer, you must first take the printer off line. To do this, press the Online button. You can now use the buttons on the front panel menu to change the settings.

In the table below, the left column represents the message line displayed in the window, and the right column represents the list of optional parameters. Press the Menu button repeatedly to cycle through the items in the left column. Press the  +  or  -  buttons to cycle through the options in the right column. When the option you need appears, press the Enter button.

00 READY COPIES=01 02 03 (etc) MANUAL FEED=OFF ON FONT SOURCE=I L R (depends on what is present) FONT NUMBER=00 01 02 (etc) FORM=060 LINES 061 062 (etc) 00 READY

In order to see and adjust the second set of options, hold down the Menu button for five seconds and the set of options listed below will appear. Cycle through with the Menu and  +  or  -  buttons, as above.

Note: The default setting for I/O on LaserJet IIs is SERIAL. You have to change this to PARALLEL in most cases.
