In Emacs and Pico, how do I delete many lines of a document at once?
To delete many lines from a document at once, follow the appropriate instructions below:
Emacs
- Move your cursor directly before the region you want to delete.
Set a mark by pressing
C-@orC-Spacebar.
- Move the cursor to the end of the region you want to delete and
press
C-w.

Pico
- Move your cursor directly before the region you want to delete.
Set a mark by pressing
Ctrl-6orCtrl-^.
- Move the cursor to the end of the region you want to delete and
press
