How do I install or uninstall components of Windows 95, 98, or Me?
You can use Add/Remove Programs to add or remove almost any
component of Windows 95, 98, or Me,
including HyperTerminal, the Backup utility and other disk tools,
Microsoft Exchange, and Microsoft Fax.
For instance, if you need to install Dial-up Networking, follow these steps:
- Click
Startand chooseSettings, thenControl Panel.
- Double-click
Add/Remove Programs.
- Select the
Windows Setuptab.
- Double-click
Communications.
- Check
Dial-up Networking.
- Click
OKin each of the two dialog boxes.
- You most likely will be asked to insert the Windows 95, 98, or Me CD-ROM, or one or more of the Windows 95 installation diskettes.
In addition to installing Windows 95, 98, and Me components, you can
use the Install/Uninstall tab in Add/Remove Programs
to install or delete Windows programs (such as Word, WordPerfect,
Excel, or Netscape Communicator) on your PC.
