In Microsoft Excel, how can I make a log-log graph?
To create a log-log graph in Microsoft Excel, you must first create an XY (scatter) graph. This is the only graph type that will work; other graph types permit logarithmic scales only on the Y axis. For information about how to create an XY (scatter) graph, see Using Microsoft Excel, how do I make a chart using one set of data as the X-axis? To create a log-log graph, follow the steps below for your version of Excel.
Excel 2007
- In your XY (scatter) graph, right-click the scale of
each axis and select
Format axis....
- In the
Format Axisbox, select theAxis Optionstab, and then checkLogarithmic scale.
Other versions of Excel
- In your XY (scatter) graph, double-click the scale of
each axis.
- In the
Format Axisbox, select theScaletab, and then checkLogarithmic scale.
