For the university web server (Webserve), what address should I use when making an SSH or SFTP connection to my account?

To upload files to or download files from your web account, use the following address:

webserve.iu.edu

Webserve is the central web server for Indiana University Bloomington, IUPUI, IU Northwest, and IU Kokomo. Although you view your pages at www.indiana.edu, www.iupui.edu, www.iun.edu, www.iuk.edu, or www.iue.edu, Webserve handles all SSH and SFTP connections to the web server.

Alternatively, you can use Siteshare to access your Webserve account by mapping a network drive to the account. It will appear as if the account were stored locally on your computer. For details, see At IU, what is Siteshare?

Note: For your personal web page at mypage.iu.edu, connect to Mercury to work with your files; see At IU, what is Mypage, and how can I publish a web page there?

If you have trouble connecting to Webserve, contact the IU Webmaster.
