In Mac OS or Mac OS X, how do I select more than one item in the Finder?
To select more than one item in the Finder in Mac OS or Mac OS X, if the items you need to select are in a group together, you can select the entire group by holding down the mouse button and dragging it to draw a square around the items you wish to select. When the square encloses all the items, let go of the mouse button, and all the items will be selected.
If you want to select multiple items that are not adjacent to each
other, you can click one item so that it is highlighted, then hold the
Shift key down as you click to select additional items.
To select all the items on the desktop or in a window, from the
Edit menu, choose Select All. Alternately, press
Cmd-a .
