Using FTP, what does "connection reset by peer" mean?

When you exceed the disk capacity or user quota on the target file system, you will receive the following error message: "connection reset by peer". For instance, if there is 1MB of space left on a host computer and you attempt to upload a file larger than this, you will receive this error message. To correct the problem, delete some files or otherwise free up space on the target drive or file system.
