ARCHIVED: In Lynx, how can I see the URL of the page I'm currently viewing, or the URL of the link that is currently selected?

This content has been archived, and is no longer maintained by Indiana University. Information here may no longer be accurate, and links may no longer be available or reliable.

While in Lynx, if you press = (the equal sign), Lynx will display the URL and other characteristics of the page you are currently viewing. It will also display the address and name of the link that is currently selected, if any.

You can also set the options in Lynx so that the currently selected link is always shown at the bottom of the screen. To do this, follow the steps below:

  1. In Lynx, press o (the letter O), which will bring up the Options menu.
  2. Use your arrow keys to move to the User mode option, then press Enter or Return.
  3. In the pop-up menu that appears, use your arrow keys to select Advanced. Press Enter or Return.
  4. Use your arrow keys to select Accept Changes. Press Return or Enter.
