In the X Window System, how do I view a PostScript file?

The X Window System you are using may have a program called Ghostview installed, which will allow you to view PostScript files. To use Ghostview, at the Unix prompt, enter:

ghostview filename.ps

Replace filename.ps with the name of the PostScript file you wish to view.

If you use the Common Desktop Environment (CDE), you can also click PostScript files in the CDE File Manager to view them in a readable and printable format.

At Indiana University, for personal or departmental Linux or Unix systems support, see At IU, how do I get support for Linux or Unix?
