In Windows, how can I see who is using resources remotely on my computer?

In Windows, to see who is using resources remotely on your computer:

  1. In Windows 7 or Vista, from the Start menu, select Programs or All Programs, and then Accessories. Right-click Command Prompt, select Run as administrator, and enter your administrator credentials when prompted.

    In Windows XP, from the Start menu, select Programs or All Programs, then Accessories, and then Command Prompt.

  2. The Command Prompt window will open. To see which (if any) computers are remotely connected to your computer, at the prompt, enter: net session

    If no computers are connected, you will see "There are no entries in the list".

  3. To remove an attached computer, enter: net session \\computername /delete

    Replace computername with the name of the computer you want to detach.
