In Windows, how can I see who is using resources remotely on my computer?
In Windows, to see who is using resources remotely on your computer:
- In Windows 7 or Vista, from the
Startmenu, selectProgramsorAll Programs, and thenAccessories. Right-clickCommand Prompt, selectRun as administrator, and enter your administrator credentials when prompted.In Windows XP, from the
Startmenu, selectProgramsorAll Programs, thenAccessories, and thenCommand Prompt. - The
Command Promptwindow will open. To see which (if any) computers are remotely connected to your computer, at the prompt, enter: net sessionIf no computers are connected, you will see "There are no entries in the list".
- To remove an attached computer, enter:
net session \\computername /delete
Replace
computernamewith the name of the computer you want to detach.
