In Firefox, how do I turn Java and JavaScript off or on?

To enable or disable Java and JavaScript in Firefox:

  1. In Firefox for Windows, from the Tools menu, select Options... .

    In Firefox for Mac OS X, from the Firefox menu, select Preferences... .

  2. In Firefox 1.5 or later, click Content; in Firefox 1.0, in the list on the left, select Web Features.

  3. Check (to enable) or uncheck (to disable) Enable JavaScript and Enable Java.
