In SPSS for Windows, how can I copy a chart into a Windows word processing program?

To bring a chart from SPSS for Windows into a Windows word processing program (e.g., Microsoft Word):

  1. Create the desired chart or graph in SPSS.

  2. In the SPSS Viewer window, select the chart or graph by clicking it. From the Edit menu, choose Copy. (You can also right-click the chart and choose Copy, or select the chart and press Ctrl-c.)

  3. Minimize SPSS, and then open a new or existing word processing document.

  4. From the Edit menu, choose Paste.

It is also possible to export a chart or output element directly to a document file:

  1. Create the desired chart or graph in SPSS.

  2. In the SPSS Viewer window, select the chart or graph by clicking it. From the File menu, choose Export (or click the Export button on the toolbar).

  3. In the "Objects to Export" section of the dialog box, choose Selected.

  4. In the "Document" section, choose Word/RTF (*.doc) in the "Type" dropdown box. Specify where you want to save the document in the "File Name" input field (or use the Browse button to choose a location). Click OK to perform the export.

  5. You can now open the file name you specified using a Windows word processing program.
