In SPSS for Windows, how do I reselect the entire data set after I have selected a subset?
In SPSS for Windows, to reselect the entire data set after you've selected a subset:
- From the main menu, click
Data, and thenSelect Cases.... TheSelect Casesdialog box will appear.
- Click the circle next to
All cases, and then clickOK. This will reselect the entire data set for subsequent commands.
You can tell if there are selected or deselected cases by looking in the "row" column of the data editor worksheet. Any row numbers with diagonal lines through them are deselected cases (i.e., they will be excluded from all subsequent commands). Also, when any cases are excluded, the message "Filter on" will appear at the lower right of the SPSS Data Editor window.
