In a Mathematica batch job, how can the input commands be included in the output?

When Mathematica creates an output file, by default only the Out[...]= lines are included. To see the corresponding input lines as well, enter as the first line of your Mathematica program:

AppendTo[$Echo,"stdout"]; $Line--;

To execute a Mathematica batch job, enter the following at the Unix prompt:

math < input > results &

Replace input with the name of the file containing your Mathematica commands. Replace results with the name of the file you wish to create to store the results.
