Streaming audio and video over the web at IU

Indiana University currently supports streaming of Flash and Windows Media formats. For more, see Collaboration Technologies' Streaming Media.

Note: UITS no longer supports the QuickTime and Real streaming servers. To stream audio and video files, you should instead use the Adobe Flash or Windows Media streaming servers; see Streaming audio and video over the web at IU. To convert QuickTime files to other formats, use Adobe Media Encoder, which is available in Adobe Creative Suite 5 (CS5 and CS5.5) from IUware. To convert Real files to other formats, use the RealPlayer Converter, and follow the RealPlayer Converter guide.

For help with Indiana University streaming and videoconferencing services, call 812-856-2020 or email Videoconferencing Support. For more, see UITS Collaboration Technologies.

Getting an account on the streaming server

You must have an account on Webserve before you can have access to the streaming server.

For information about obtaining an account and accessing the streaming services, visit Digital Media Streaming Service or Web Accounts on Webserve.

To request digital media streaming, complete the Enterprise WebTech Services Management form.

Note: Service and account requests must come from the individual account owner, not an account contact or group account ID.

Streaming video live

To make arrangements for streaming live events, contact Video Conferencing Support.
