In Windows, how do I check the size of a drive, disk, partition, or folder?

To check the size of a drive, disk, or folder in Windows:

  1. From the Start menu, select either Computer or My Computer.

  2. To display the size of the drive, disk, or folder, right-click it, and then choose Properties. You can also left-click it once, and then from the File menu, choose Properties.

In the resulting window, the General tab will display the size of free and used space, as well as the number of files and folders (if any) within the drive, disk, or folder.
