Can I get an IU email address for my family members?
In order to have an Indiana University email address and Network ID, you must be a student, faculty member, or staff member at IU. Therefore, as a rule, being a family member of a student, faculty member, or staff member does not entitle a person to the use of IU computing resources.
An exception to this may arise if a person is involved in some university-sanctioned activity that supports the university mission. In this case, the person may be eligible for a sponsored IU Affiliate account. This account grants temporary access to IU computing resources. For more, see About sponsored computing accounts for IU affiliates. For any other exceptions, see the policy of the University Information Policy Office (UIPO) on Eligibility to Use Information Technology Resources.
