For Internet Explorer and Netscape, where can I find the 128-bit versions?

High (128-bit) encryption is included in the latest versions of both Internet Explorer and Netscape.

Internet Explorer

You can get the latest version of Internet Explorer at:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/getitnow.mspx

To install 128-bit encryption on older versions of Internet Explorer (anything before version 5.5), you will need to download the High Encryption Pack at:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ie6/downloads/recommended/128bit/default.mspx

Note: If you are running Windows 2000, installing Internet Explorer 5.5 will not change the current level of encryption on your computer. You will need to install the Windows 2000 High Encryption Pack.

For information on exporting Microsoft products, see:

http://www.microsoft.com/exporting/

Netscape

On March 1, 2008, AOL ended official development of and support for Netscape software. If you use Netscape, consider switching to Mozilla programs such as Firefox, Thunderbird, or SeaMonkey. You can still download releases of Netscape from 4.x through 9.x from the Netscape Archive, and you may be able to find unofficial support through links on this site. UITS will continue to support Netscape for the present.

You can download Netscape products from:

http://browser.netscape.com/

All versions of Netscape 4.75 and later offer 128-bit encryption. You can download previous versions with either 56-bit or 128-bit encryption.
