In Windows NT 4.0, 2000, and XP, is it possible to access FAT32 partitions?

Windows 2000 and Windows XP support the NT file system (NTFS) and the File Allocation Table systems FAT16 and FAT32.

Note: Windows 2000 and XP can recognize and use an existing FAT32 partition of any size. However, the maximum partition they can create is 32GB.

Windows NT 4.0 does not support FAT32, but there are third-party products that make it possible to read and write to FAT32 partitions from within Windows NT 4.0. For example, see:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/archive.aspx

Note: At Indiana University, UITS does not support these third-party products.
