ARCHIVED: In Oncourse, why are some registered students missing from the class roster?

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) affords students the right to conceal their names from other class participants. Faculty can see all the students in the roster; however, on the Bloomington campus, the registrar has elected to hide students from each other by default. When students from the Bloomington campus first link to a course, a dialog box appears offering the option of being listed in the Oncourse class roster. In Oncourse CL, these students will be hidden from other participants by default. On other campuses, students who have made special arrangements with their registrars to invoke FERPA rights are not visible to other students in original Oncourse or Oncourse CL. For more information, see the Knowledge Base document ARCHIVED: In Oncourse, why don't I appear in the roster of a class for which I'm registered?

At Fort Wayne, registration data is not automatically transferred to Oncourse. Fort Wayne instructors will have to generate IU Guest accounts for students and other class participants. For more information, see the Knowledge Base document ARCHIVED: In Oncourse, how do I add people from IPFW to my class roster?
