At IU, in an STC or RTC, what should I do if the printer isn't working?
For a complete schedule of the availability of IUB STCs for summer 2008, see At IUB, what is the STC summer upgrade schedule for 2008?
If you are in a UITS Student Technology Center (STC) or Residential Technology Center (RTC) and the printer isn't working, don't try to repair it on your own. See In a UITS STC or RTC, how do I report a problem?
If you are in an unstaffed STC or RTC and can't resolve the printer problem, you can visit one of the labs open and staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, except for Christmas and New Year's Day:
- IU Bloomington: Information Commons (IC)
- IUPUI: BS 3000
At IUB, you need a printing account in order to print from an STC or RTC printer. If you are a registered student or a faculty member, this account should have been automatically generated for you. However, if an STC or RTC printer won't work for you but is working for others, verify that you have the necessary printing account; see Information about the UITS printing account at IUB.
When the default printer in an IUB STC or RTC is unavailable or out of service, you can change the default setting on the workstation you are using and print to a different printer; see In the IUB STCs, how do I choose a printer other than the default?
