Note: IU prohibits the use of electronic mail for mass mailings intended for all university or campus faculty and/or staff. One option for getting electronic messages to a large group (i.e., 30 people or more) is to create a distribution list through LISTSERV. Owners of lists can subscribe members to a LISTSERV list if they have a list of members' Network IDs, or members can subscribe themselves. For more information, see the Knowledge Base document ARCHIVED: At IU, how do I request a new LISTSERV list?

Anyone whose email address ends with indiana.edu can create a distribution list on the IU Bloomington Majordomo server. For more information, see the Knowledge Base document ARCHIVED: At IU, can I create a Majordomo mailing list?

UITS has retired the Majordomo list server at Indiana University Bloomington. If you were the primary owner of an IUB Majordomo list, you can no longer use it to send mail. If you'd like to create a new mailing list, anyone with an IU Network ID username and passphrase can request a LISTSERV list. For instructions, see ARCHIVED: At IU, how do I request a new LISTSERV list? Also, for a collection of documents with general LISTSERV information, and information about owning and subscribing to LISTSERV lists at IU, see the Knowledge Base menu ARCHIVED: LISTSERV, distribution lists, and mass mailing.
