At IU, how do I transfer ownership of my Webserve account to someone else?

To transfer ownership of a web account on Webserve (i.e., www.indiana.edu, www.iub.edu, www.iupui.edu, www.iun.edu, or www.iuk.edu), the current account owner needs to complete the Web Account Ownership Transfer Request Form (requires authentication).

Alternatively, you may:

  1. Contact the person you wish to name as the new owner of the account.

    Note: The prospective owner must be someone whose professional responsibilities are related to the purposes of the web account and who has a full-time Indiana University faculty or staff appointment.

  2. Contact Account Administration at  valid@indiana.edu  to request a change of ownership and to supply the username of the new owner.

  3. For Account Administration to make the change, the new owner also needs to contact  valid@indiana.edu  accepting ownership of the account Network ID and all accounts, such as email, associated with it.

Note: If the owner of a web account has left IU and you need to transfer ownership of that account, either email the IU webmaster or refer to Contact IU Webmaster.
