At IUB, how can staff members or affiliates print in the STCs?

Printing in the Student Technology Centers (STCs) at Indiana University Bloomington is funded by the Student Technology Fee, and therefore is dedicated solely to student usage. However, university departments can purchase non-standard printing allotments that allow staff members or affiliates to print in the STCs.

Non-standard printing allotments are prepaid balances funded by your department, and are available to accounts with an IU Network ID username, including departmental accounts. The fee is $24 per academic year for up to 200 printed pages per semester.

If you have unpredictable printing needs, or need more than 200 pages during any given semester, you may purchase a supplemental allotment in 100-page increments for $4 each. Unused supplemental allotments will automatically roll over into future semesters. Refunds will not be issued for unprinted pages.

Note: IU Guest accounts are not eligible for non-standard printing allotments.

To set up a non-standard printing allotment, or to purchase a supplemental allotment, for a staff member, affiliate, or departmental account, send a request from the department in an email message to  stcprint@indiana.edu . The message must include the Network ID username of the account that will be using the printing allotment, and the departmental account number to which the allotment will be billed.

Note: Sponsors must keep records of all conference account users. In the case of a security or policy violation, the sponsor must be able to supply identity and contact information for the user of the offending account at the time of the incident, and must assist in problem resolution.

Supplemental allotments are also available at the UITS Support Center walk-in location in the Information Commons (IC).

For more information, see the Non-Standard Printing Allotments section of About STC printing allotments at IUB.

For more information regarding policies governing use of the STCs, see Student Technology Centers standards and practices.
