In Microsoft Outlook, how can I prevent the Outlook Today screen from opening when I start the program?

The Outlook Today screen may be set to display whenever you open Microsoft Outlook. To turn off this feature:

Outlook 2010

1. Click the File tab, and then on the left, click Options.
   
   
2. On the left, click Advanced.
   
   
3. Under "Outlook start and exit", next to the "Start Outlook in this folder:" field, click Browse... .
   
   
4. Choose the folder you want to display when Outlook starts, click OK, and then click OK again.

Outlook 2007 and 2003

1. With the Outlook Today screen open, click Customize Outlook Today... .
   
   
2. If you do not want Outlook Today to load when you open Outlook, uncheck When starting, go directly to Outlook Today.
   
   
3. Click Save Changes.
