ARCHIVED: In Windows 95, how do I make a VPN connection to the IU network?
Indiana University's VPN service uses IPsec as the connection protocol. Windows 95 has no IPsec VPN support. The only Microsoft IPsec client that exists does not list Windows 95 as a supported operating system. Windows 95 users who must use VPN are encouraged to upgrade their operating systems.
If it is absolutely necessary to connect a computer running Windows 95 via VPN, call the Support Center for assistance.
For help, contact your campus Support Center.
Note: UITS recommends that you use a current version of Windows on computers connected to the Indiana University network; see For Windows computers on the IU network, why does UITS recommend Windows 2000, XP Professional, or Vista Enterprise or Ultimate? Security features on the IU network prevent computers running older operating systems from authenticating to ADS, printing to some network printers in departments and campus housing, and mapping drives to other computers.
