At IUB, can I cancel a print job in the STCs or RTCs?

At Indiana University Bloomington, if you send your output to a printer that uses a print release station, output will not be charged against your printing allotment until you release the output from the queue on that station. This applies to all color printers and plotters, and to most black-and-white printers in the Student Technology Centers (STCs) and Residential Technology Centers (RTCs).

Once you release the output for printing, it is charged against your printing allotment. If it is a longer document, or if it takes a long time to print, you can sometimes cancel it at the printer. However, this cancellation will not automatically credit your printing allotment.

If you cancel a print job at the printer, as long as a substantial portion of your document remains unprinted, you can still get print credit by calling 812-855-3802 or by emailing  stcprint@indiana.edu . Include your Network ID username and the job ID number of the print job to be credited. You can get this information from your printing allotment pages.

Failure to request credit for unprinted color output may result in unexpected printing charges on your bursar bill. You must request credit in the same semester you incur the charges.
