In Mac OS X, how do I change the monitor resolution?

In Mac OS X, you can change the monitor resolution through the Displays pane of the System Preferences as follows.

  1. From the Apple menu, select System Preferences... .

  2. In System Preferences, from the View menu, select Displays.

  3. Click the Display tab.

  4. Under "Resolutions:", click the resolution you prefer.

  5. Click the Color tab to select the display profile or calibrate the display.
