Other considerations
Hardware
Before installing any version of Mac OS X, make sure that any add-on hardware, such as your printer, will work with it. Currently, most inkjet printers from Canon, HP, and Epson are supported by a default install of Mac OS X, and many other vendors offer OS X driver downloads on their web sites. If you use a scanner, check with the manufacturer about present or future Mac OS X support. The Mac OS X Image Capture and iPhoto applications will work with most USB cameras from Kodak, HP, Pentax, Sony, Fuji, and Panasonic.
Software
Check for Mac OS X versions or upgrades of the software you currently use. While some software titles do not currently have Mac OS X versions, many applications that run in Mac OS 9 will also run in the Classic Environment of Mac OS X.
