ARCHIVED: In Mac OS X, how do I activate or de-activate AppleTalk?

To activate and de-activate AppleTalk in Mac OS X:

  1. From the Apple menu, select System Preferences... .

  2. From the View menu, select Network.

  3. Next to "Show:" or "Configure:", select your Ethernet option (e.g., Built-in Ethernet).

  4. Click the AppleTalk tab.

  5. To activate AppleTalk, check the box next to Make AppleTalk Active. Similarly, to de-activate AppleTalk, uncheck this box.

  6. Click Apply Now or Save.

Note: AppleTalk and IPX routing are no longer available on the Indiana University network.
