In Mac OS X Mail, how do I save sent and draft messages on my IMAP server?

Note: This document assumes you have already configured Mac OS X Mail. For information, see At IU, how do I configure Mac OS X Mail to read my Cyrus (Webmail) or Exchange mail through IMAP? You must also have used Mac OS X Mail to access your IMAP mail account at least once.

Mac OS X 10.2.x and later

  1. In the OS X Mail folder list, click the folder you'd like to use for your saved mail or drafts folder.

  2. From the Mailbox menu, choose Use Selected Mailbox For, and then from the submenu, select the appropriate assignment.

Mac OS X 10.1.x

  1. In OS X Mail, from the Mail menu, select Preferences... .

  2. In the Mail Preferences window, click Composing.

  3. In the pull-down menus next to "Save unsent mail in:" and "Save sent mail in:", select the folders where you want to save draft and sent messages, respectively.

After you've made this change, messages you send and/or save as drafts will be stored on the IMAP server rather than your own computer.

This is document akpl in domain all.
