ARCHIVED: In Mac OS X Mail, how do I save sent and draft messages on my IMAP server?

Note: These instructions assume you have already configured Mac OS X Mail.

To save sent and draft messages on your IMAP server in Mac OS X Mail:

  1. In the OS X Mail folder list, click the folder you'd like to use for your saved mail or drafts folder.

  2. From the Mailbox menu, choose Use Selected Mailbox For, and then from the submenu, select the appropriate assignment.

After you've made this change, messages you send and/or save as drafts will be stored on the IMAP server rather than your own computer.
