At IU, how can I get a copy of SPSS?
SPSS is available on both Mac and Windows platforms. Indiana University students, faculty, and staff can purchase SPSS software through the IU-SPSS Enterprise License Agreement (ELA). The program contains the SPSS Base, Advanced Models, Regression Models, and Tables, and you may use it at either your workplace or home (for university-related purposes).
Licenses under the ELA expire each August; you will need to purchase a new copy with a current license code for the next academic year. For details about the licensing procedure, see the SPSS Enterprise License Agreement. (The site requires your IU Network ID.)
You can purchase a copy of the SPSS CD at the following locations:
| IU Bloomington | Stat/Math Center, 410 N. Park Avenue, Bloomington, IN 47408 |
|---|---|
| Other campuses | Campus bookstores |
Note: The bookstores at the IU Bloomington and other campuses may also sell SPSS Student Version. The license of this version remains valid as long as you have student status, but you will have to purchase upgrades separately. The Stat/Math Center does not support installation, licensing, or expiration issues for the Student Version; if you have problems with SPSS Student Version, contact the store or vendor from which you bought the software. For more about the student version of SPSS (PASW Statistics), see Teaching with SPSS; to determine whether your campus bookstore sells it, contact the bookstore directly.
For more information about statistical and mathematical software, email the UITS Stat/Math Center, visit the center's web page, or phone 812-855-4724 (IUB) or 317-278-4740 (IUPUI). The center is located in Bloomington at 410 N. Park Avenue, and is open for consultation by appointment Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
For more, see About Licensing.
