To apply for an individual account on the Andrew File System (AFS) at Indiana University, follow the instructions below for your campus. At all campuses, AFS accounts are available only for graduate students, faculty, and staff.

To apply for an account on the AFS if you are at IUB or IUPUI, follow these steps:
- Connect to the Account Management Service at: http://itaccounts.iu.edu/
- Click
Manage my IU computing accounts.
- Log in with your Network ID username and passphrase.

- Click
create more accounts.
- If you are a graduate student or a faculty or staff member, click
the radio button next to
Andrew File System (AFS)and then clickCreate Account. (If you are an undergraduate, you will not see the AFS option.)
- Fill out the form on the next page. The form will ask for the
following information:
- Your full name
- Your Network ID username
- Your department
- The project name (if any)
- Your preferred email address
- Your phone number and office location
- An estimate of how much storage space you will need
- Whether you want the AFS client installed on your computer; if you do, you will need to answer several questions about your computer
Be sure to provide your preferred email address on this form; UITS will need to contact you at this address when your account is set up.
- Click
submit.
- You will receive an email message informing you when your account is ready for use.
Other campuses
To apply for an AFS account if you are a graduate student or a faculty
or staff member at IU Northwest, IU East, IU Kokomo, IU South Bend, or
IU Southeast, please send email to
store-admin@iu.edu with the following
information:
- Your full name
- Your department
- Your status (graduate student, faculty, staff)
- Your Network ID username
- Your preferred email address
- Your campus address
- Your phone number
- Your ID number
- Your reason for requesting an AFS account
You will receive an email message informing you when your account is ready for use.
