On my LISTSERV list, how can I control access to the web archives?

In LISTSERV, web archives are known as notebooks. The settings for notebook access are located in the list header under the Notebook keyword.

You can change the settings for notebook access by editing the list header, or at Indiana University, you can use the LISTSERV web interface.

List header

To complete the steps in this section, you will need to edit the list header; see On my LISTSERV list, how can I modify the list header?

To modify notebook access, change the Notebook keyword in your list configuration by setting Public to Private or vice versa. For example, to make your notebook available only to subscribers, enter the following, replacing listname-l with the name of your list:

Notebook= Yes,d:\www\iub\notebooks\listname-l,Monthly,Private

Note: If enabled, notebook archives are private by default.

IU LISTSERV web interface

To use the IU LISTSERV web interface to change the settings for the Notebook keyword:

  1. For Indiana University LISTSERV lists, visit the menu for your campus:

    Log in using your IU email address and LISTSERV password, and then from the List Management menu at the top, select List Dashboard. Under "List Name", click Configure under the name of the list you wish to edit. If you do not have a LISTSERV personal password, see In LISTSERV, how do I set or change a personal password?

  2. From the List Configuration page, select the List Maintenance tab.

  3. Use the wizard to edit the settings for the Notebook keyword. When you are finished, click Submit.

For more about LISTSERV, see L-Soft Documentation and Manuals.
