At IU, what is the difference between Webserve and Mercury?
Note: For information about the recent migration to Webserve, see About the IU central web server migration or the IU Webmaster's Migration Information page.
Webserve hosts departmental, faculty, course, and official student organization pages at Indiana University. Webserve hosts accounts on:
www.indiana.eduwww.iupui.eduwww.iun.eduwww.iuk.edu
Mercury hosts personal web sites for faculty, staff, and students at mypage.iu.edu. Some student organizations and faculty members may also choose to publish their web pages on Mercury because it is easy to create an account using an existing IU Network ID.
Note: At Indiana University South Bend, the Mypage service is different from the Mypage service mentioned in this document. For more information, see IUSB's Web Publishing: Mypage page.
