In IU Webmail, what options can I change in my address book?
You can change how IU Webmail behaves and how it displays your mail. For more information on available options, see In IU Webmail, what are Options and how do I use them?
You can also adjust another, separate set of options for your
address book. To access these options, log into Webmail, and from the
header bar at the top of the screen, click Address Book. When
the screen displays your address book, the header bar selections at
the top change. To access your address book options, click
Options.
Display Options
Under "Display Options", you can set the following:

Column Options: This set of options controls
which columns you see when you view the listing of your address book
contents:
- Click
Column Options, and on the next screen, from the "Please select a directory:" drop-down menu, choose the address book whose display you wish to modify.
- In the "Available Columns:" pane on the left, select the column
headers to be displayed when you view the listing of your
address book contents. Click to highlight each column header, and then
click the hand pointing to the right to move the header to the
"Selected Columns:" pane on the right.
To select multiple panes and move them all at once,
Ctrl-click (Cmd-click on a Macintosh) each item. - To rearrange the items in the "Selected Columns:" pane, highlight
the item you wish to move, and then click the up or down arrow to the
right to move the item up or down one step in the list.
- When you are satisfied with your changes, click
Save Options. If you wish to start over, clickUndo Changes. To return to the main options menu without making any changes, clickReturn to Options.

Default Display: When you first click
Address Bookon the main Webmail screen, the default view is your address book. To have a basic search page appear instead, clickDefault Display; then, from the "View to display by default:" drop-down menu, selectSearch. You can also select whether your address book is sorted in ascending or descending order, the maximum number of pages (the default is 10), and the number of items per page (the default is 20). To save any changes, clickSave Options.

Name Format: By default, Webmail displays your
address book listings as "Lastname, Firstname" (e.g., Doe, John). To
change this, click
Name Format; then, from the drop-down menu under "Select the format used to display names:", select"Firstname Lastname" (ie. John Doe). To save the change, clickSave Options.
- Searching Options: Here you can choose a default directory for your personal Address Book, contact lists, and searches (either your own Address Book or one of the campus address books). You can also specify whether you want advanced search results to appear above or below the search form.
Other Options
Under "Other Options", you can change whether or not you need to
confirm deletions from your address book. Click Delete
Confirmation, and then check or uncheck the box for Do you
want to confirm deleting entries? .
