ARCHIVED: With Pocket PC 2002, how do I make a VPN connection to the IU network?

Note: IU's VPN is intended for individual computing accounts only. Group and departmental accounts cannot access the VPN. See Why can't I make a VPN connection through an IU group or departmental account?

To connect to the Indiana University VPN with a Pocket PC 2002 device, follow the directions below.

Note: You need to register your wireless device before you make a wireless VPN connection. Registration will enhance the security and reliability of IU's wireless network. See the instructions in the "PocketPC 2002" section of At IU, how do I register my wireless Pocket PC, Windows Mobile, or Palm device with DHCP?

Note: Because of a design flaw, Pocket Internet Explorer does not work with any VPN connection. To view web pages, you will need a third-party browser such as NetFront, which will work with VPN connections. For more information, see At IU, with a Windows Mobile or Pocket PC device, why can't I browse the web using Pocket Internet Explorer?
