ARCHIVED: At IUPUI, using Windows 8, 7, or Vista, how do I manually add a printer in the University Library?

To manually add a printer in the IUPUI University Library using Windows:

  1. Establish a wireless connection to the IU Secure network.
  2. In Windows 8, from the Start screen (or Metro Desktop), type run. Click the Run icon, and then go to step 3.

    In Windows 7 or Vista, click the Start button. In the "Start Search" field, type \\in-ulib-stang. Press Enter, and then skip to step 4.

  3. In the "Open:" field, type \\in-ulib-stang, and then press Enter.

    Note: If \\in-ulib-stang does not work, try \\in-ulib-stang.ads.iu.edu.

  4. At the username and password prompt, enter the following, replacing username with your username:
      ads\username

    Note: You must type ads\ before your username to log in.

  5. Enter your password.
  6. From the window that appears, double-click the Black-and-White-Printers icon. When you are prompted to install it, click OK.
