At IUB or IUPUI, if I don't have a Network ID, how do I use a kiosk to create my initial computing accounts?
If you have been admitted to or have registered for classes at Indiana University, you can generate your initial computing accounts from a kiosk in the 24-hour Student Technology Center (STC) in IT 131 at IUPUI or in the Information Commons (IC) at IU Bloomington; at IUB, the UITS walk-in Support Center staff in the IC can assist you in locating an available kiosk.
To create your accounts:
- On the main page, click the link to create your first accounts.
- You will see a series of screens explaining your responsibilities
as a computer user at IU. Read each screen and click
Continueto go to the next screen. At the end of the series, to agree to the computer use terms, typeyesand clickContinue.
- Enter your last name, date of birth, and full
10-digit University ID (UID) or employee ID.
- Follow the on-screen instructions. You will be prompted to print out your account information, but you cannot do this from the kiosks.
This will establish a Network ID and create your initial computing accounts. If after creating your initial accounts you'd like to create more IU computing accounts, see At IU, if I already have some computing accounts, how do I get others? and What computing accounts are available at IU?
