At IUB or IUPUI, if I don't have a Network ID, how do I use the kiosk to create my initial computing accounts?
If you have been admitted to or have registered for classes at Indiana University, you can generate your initial computing accounts from a kiosk in the 24-hour Student Technology Center (STC) in IT 131 at IUPUI or in the Information Commons at IU Bloomington; at IUB, the UITS Walk-In Support Center (also located in the Information Commons), can assist you in locating an available kiosk.
To create your accounts, follow the steps below:
- On the main page, click the link to create your first accounts.
- You will see a series of screens explaining your responsibilities
as a computer user at IU. Read each screen and click
Continueto go to the next screen. At the end of the series, to agree to the computer use terms, typeyesand clickContinue.
- Enter your last name, date of birth, and full
10-digit University ID (UID) or employee ID.
- Follow the on-screen instructions. You will be prompted to print out your account information, but you cannot do this from the kiosks.
This will establish a Network ID and create your initial computing accounts. If after creating your initial accounts you'd like to create more IU computing accounts, see the Knowledge Base document At IU, if I already have some computing accounts, how do I get others? For information about available accounts at IU, see the Knowledge Base document What computing accounts are available at IU?
