ARCHIVED: What IP address will I get when using Kiva Everywhere for my wireless Internet connection?

If you connect to the Internet through a wireless connection via Kiva Everywhere KSpots, you can expect an IP address within this range:

64.151.174.1 to 64.151.174.126

If you obtain an IP address within this range, your wireless network adapter is seeing a Kiva KSpot correctly. If your computer is set up to use Indiana University's virtual private network (VPN), you should be able to make a VPN connection at this point.

As an Indiana University wireless user, you have access to the Internet through Kiva Everywhere KSpots if you are using a VPN connection.

Most IU Bloomington wireless users are used to seeing IP addresses like 10.231.x.x before initiating a VPN connection. That is the IP range you can expect from an IUB wireless access point (WAP), but the Kiva WAPs do not follow this convention. Kiva's non-IU affiliated customers do not need to make a VPN connection before connecting to the Internet, so Kiva supplies fully functional Internet IP addresses.
