The Windows Quick Launch bar is available in Windows Vista and Windows XP, and allows you to create easily accessible shortcuts to commonly used programs.

Note: Windows 7 does not include the Quick Launch bar by default.

Show the Quick Launch bar

To show the Quick Launch bar:

  1. Right-click an empty area on the Taskbar, and then click Properties.
  2. From the Taskbar tab, select Show Quick Launch.
  3. Click Apply to apply your changes, and then click OK to close the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties dialog box.

Add applications to the Quick Launch bar

From your desktop or the Start menu, open My Computer. Click the icon for the program you want to add, and then drag it to the Quick Launch area on the Taskbar (located to the right of the Start menu).
