About the CIB (Cyberinfrastructure Building)

The Cyberinfrastructure Building, located at the intersection of 10th Street and the State Road 45/46 Bypass, houses the offices of most UITS departments at Indiana University Bloomington.

UITS staff: See the list of UITS-internal content on the right (log into KB, upper left of this page). Also, CIB (requires CAS login) in the UITS intranet is still available, although not currently maintained.

Public access and guest badges

The lobby area of the CIB is open to the public, and includes a cafe and walk-up Support Center location. Support Center staff are available for walk-up help Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.

To access the rest of the building, visitors must sign in at the front desk to receive a temporary visitor's badge to be worn at all times while in the secure areas of the building. You'll need to be accompanied in these areas by a UITS employee of the group you're visiting. When you have finished your business, return your visitor's badge to the receptionist and sign out.

Parking

For the most convenient access to the CIB, enter the UITS complex through the Tenth Street entrance. Metered visitor spaces are available in the parking lot at this entrance; you can also access A and C permit spaces near the CIB, or A, C, and E spaces in the lots immediately to the east of the University Gym and the Innovation Center. If you have difficulty locating available visitor spaces, contact the CIB receptionist at 812-855-9255.

The parking lots accessed from the Bypass entrance to the UITS complex have permit spaces; these lots do not connect internally to the Tenth Street lots.

Public transit

The CIB is on Bloomington Transit's Route 6 (Campus Shuttle), between the stops for Fountain Park Apartments and Eigenmann Hall. In addition, Route 9 (IU Campus/College Mall/Campus Corner) stops on the opposite side of the 45/46 Bypass, just east of Tulip Tree Apartments. All IU students ride free with a student ID card. Faculty and staff may request a free bus pass from Campus Card Services; see Free Bus Access for IU Employees. For route maps, schedules, and other information, see Bloomington Transit.

You can see the location of the CIB on the IUB campus map. You can also get specific directions from your location from the relevant Google Maps page; click Cyber Infrastructure Building in the list on the left of the Google Maps screen, and then click Directions in the window that appears.
