Login is for authorized groups (e.g., UITS, OVPIT, and TCC) that need access to specialized Knowledge Base documents. Otherwise, simply use the Knowledge Base without logging in.

At IU, what is the Global Address List?

The Global Address List (GAL) is a directory service within the Exchange email system. The GAL contains information for all email users, distribution groups, and Exchange resources at Indiana University.

If you configure Outlook to use your Exchange account natively (versus accessing Exchange through an IMAP server), the GAL is the default address book. To access it, in Outlook 2010, from the Home tab, click Address Book; in Outlook 2007, from the Tools menu, select Address Book.

IMAP email clients such as Windows Live Mail (or Outlook, if you configure it to use an IMAP server) don't access the GAL by default, but they can be configured to read it using LDAP. To configure your IMAP email program to access the GAL using LDAP, follow the link for your client below:
