At IU, in KMail, how do I read my Cyrus mail using IMAP?

To configure KMail to read your Cyrus mail using IMAP at Indiana University, follow these instructions:

1. From the Settings menu, select Configure KMail... .
   
   
2. From the configuration window, click Identities. Select the Default identity, and then click Modify. If you do not have a default identity entry, click New to create one.
   
   
3. In the window that appears, type your name and email address, and then click OK.
   
   
4. In the column on the left side of the window, click Accounts. Click the tab labeled Sending, and then click Add... to add an outgoing mail server. In the Add Transport window, select SMTP, and then click OK.
   
   
5. In the window that appears, enter mail-relay.iu.edu for both Name and Host, and then change the port from 25 to 465 . Check the box next to Server requires authentication, and for Login, enter your IU Network ID.
   
   
6. From the top of the window, click the Security tab. Under "Encryption and Plan for Authentication Method", select SSL, and then click OK.
   
   
7. From the top of the window, click the Receiving tab, and then click Add to add a new incoming mail server.
   
   
8. Next to "Account Type", select IMAP. For both Name and Host, enter imap.iu.edu . For Login, enter your IU Network ID, and then change the port from 143 to 993 .
   
   
9. Click the Security tab. Under "Encryption", select Use SSL for Secure mail download. Under "Authentication Method", select Clear text.
   
   
10. Click OK, and then click OK again to return to the main KMail window. You should now be able to send and receive email from KMail.
