In UMS, why is there a delay after I enter my passcode to listen to my voice mail?
If you use Exchange as your email service, Unified Messaging Service (UMS) uses your Exchange mailbox to store all of your voice mail messages. When someone leaves a voice mail message for you, it is deposited in your Inbox. When you call to listen to your messages, UMS must scan the contents of your Exchange Inbox to play the messages to you. If you have a large number of messages (including both email and voice mail messages) in your Inbox, this can cause a delay of several seconds after you enter your passcode.
To eliminate the delay, move or archive messages from your Inbox until the delay disappears. Typically, keeping the contents of your Inbox below 200 messages is sufficient to avoid this delay.
