At IU, what software products are available with an ArcGIS license?
At Indiana University, when a department purchases an ArcGIS Desktop ArcView license through UITS, the following software products are available as a part of the license:
- ArcGIS Desktop (includes ArcGlobe, ArcReader, ArcScene, and Tutorial PDF Data)
- ArcGIS Developer Resources
- ArcGIS Engine
- ArcGIS Engine Developer Kit
- ArcInfo Workstation
- ArcLogistics Route and Sample Data
- ArcPad with StreetMap data
- ArcSDE Personal Edition for ArcGIS Desktop
- ArcView 3.3
- BusinessMAP
- Crystal Reports
- ESRI Data and Maps
- Job Tracking (JTX)
- MapObjects (Windows and Java Editions)
- Production Line Tool Set (PLTS) Extension and Sample Data
With an ArcGIS Desktop ArcInfo license through UITS, ArcInfo Workstation is also available as part of the license.
Note: UITS charges an additional annual fee ($1,000) for use of ArcGIS Server. This includes ArcIMS, ArcSDE, and ArcGIS Server applications.
ArcPad 8 software and data along with ArcLogistics Tele Atlas data can only be used for teaching and research, not administration. You may continue to use ArcLogistics software for administrative purposes with other data you create or acquire; ESRI has discontinued only the use of the Tele Atlas data with ArcLogistics for administrative purposes. For ArcPad, use of both the ArcPad software and ArcPad data for administrative purposes has been discontinued.
Downloading software
If you have an ESRI license through UITS, ask your department's Primary GIS Contacts to download ESRI software from IUware. If the software you need is not available from IUware, contact a GIS Support Specialist.
