Why do I need a password to download some GIS data from the Indiana Spatial Data Portal?
Although most of the data on the Indiana Spatial Data Portal (ISDP) is available for download by the general public, some data sets are restricted for use within the academic environment at Indiana University. For example, the Central Indiana GDT data set is restricted to IU students, faculty, and staff. To download these restricted files using the ISDP web interface, you must authenticate with an IU Network ID.
If you do not meet the above criteria, UITS cannot provide you with credentials to access these data. However, if you are working with IU staff or faculty on a specific project, you may be able to obtain an affiliate account.
