What is E-Reserves/E-Res?
The Indiana University Bloomington Libraries maintain E-Reserves, or E-Res, an electronic document reserves system that provides online access to course readings for IUB, IU East, IU South Bend, and IU Southeast students. The system uses the Docutek ERes online document management system to make materials available via the web. Students at IUPUI use a similar system called Ares.
E-Reserves is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You may access the documents from any computer with an Internet connection or from any workstation at your campus library. IU restricts these materials to current IU students by way of individual course passwords, which are different from your Network ID passphrase. Your instructor will provide you with your course's password. If you have difficulty, see What should I do if I am having problems accessing course materials through E-Reserves or Ares?
Note: You need Adobe Reader software on your computer to view and print documents. If you are affiliated with IU, you can download this software free from IUware. It is also available free from Adobe's Reader web site.
