Using Oncourse CL, how do I create, edit, or delete work sites?

On this page:

Creating a site

At Indiana University, Oncourse CL course sites are automatically created for instructors. If you want to create an Oncourse CL project site, you must request it. For instructions, see Request a practice course site or project site. For more information, see Course sites, practice course sites, and project sites: Overview.

Editing a site

To edit a site you created:

  1. In your My Workspace menubar, click Worksite Setup.

  2. Check the box next to the site you want to edit. Then, at the top of the Worksite Setup page, click Edit.

  3. Using the links near the top, select an option for editing your site:

    • To edit the site description, short description, site contact name, or site contact email, click Edit Site Information.

    • To add or remove tools from your site, click Edit Tools.

    • To change the publishing status of your site, modify who can see or join your site, and determine the default role for people who join, click Manage Access.

    • To add participants and assign them participant roles, click Add Participants.

    • To add material from another site you own, click Import from Site.

Note: You can re-use material only from other sites that you own. You can combine material from more than one site.

    • To import materials from a pre-existing file, click Import from File.

    • To separate a combined course site from its parent site, click Separate Rosters. To combine several course sites into one parent site, click Combine Rosters.

Deleting a site

You can't delete a course site. Courses remain available in Oncourse CL for eight semesters. (Each academic year includes three semesters: fall, spring, and summer.) Users can use Preferences in My Workspace to hide course sites from previous semesters; for instructions, see Showing, hiding, and ordering course and project sites.

To delete a practice course site or project site that you own, send your request via email to  oncrs@iu.edu . Include your siteID in your correspondence; see Determining your site's siteID.
