Using Oncourse, how do I edit content in the Worksite Information box?
Note: To complete these procedures, you must be assigned a role having the necessary permissions. To determine your role, follow the directions in Participant roles. To view a list of permissions associated with a given role, see Permissions, roles, and tools. For a basic understanding of roles and permissions, see Permissions and roles: Overview.
The Worksite Information box is located on a site's home page in the column next to the menubar. You can display either a web page or text in the box; you can also change the size of the box.

Adding a web page
To make a web page appear in the Worksite Information box:
- In the site you want to edit, if the site's home page is not
already open, click
Homein the menubar.
- In the Worksite Information box, click
Options.Note: Because the title of the Worksite Information box is customizable, the box may be titled something other than "Worksite Information" on your site; however, it will always be located on your site's home page in the column next to the menubar.
- In the "Title" field, enter a title for your Worksite Information
box, or keep the default or current title.
- Use the "Frame Height" drop-down list to set the height for your
Worksite Information box. You cannot change the width of the box.
Note: Most web pages display best in a tall box (600 or more pixels).
- Under "Site Info URL", type the URL (you may omit the
http://prefix).
- Click
Update Options.Note: You may need to refresh your browser to view your new Worksite Information.
Adding a text description
To add a text description:
- In the site you want to edit, if the site's home page is not
already open, click
Homein the menubar.
- In the Worksite Information box, click

- In the "Title" field, enter a title for your Worksite Information
box, or keep the default or current title.

- Under "Description", enter the text you wish to display.
- Click
Update Options.Note: You may need to refresh your browser to view your new Worksite Information.
Note: You can also edit your text description through
Site Setup. To do so, click Site Setup, and then Edit Site
Information. Make changes as needed, click Continue,
and then click Finish.
Adding your own HTML file
To display an HTML file, first upload it to Resources (see Resources), and then:
- Go to Resources in the site to which you uploaded the file.
- Copy the URL of the HTML file by right-clicking the file's name,
and then selecting your browser's
Copy Shortcut,Copy Link Location, orCopy Link to Clipboardfeature. (Alternatively, you can click the file's name to open it in a new browser window, and then copy the URL from your browser's address box.)
- If you are not already in the site in which you want to display
the HTML file, select it.
- If the site's home page is not already open, click
Homein the menubar.
- In the Worksite Information box, click

- Paste the URL into the "Site Info URL" field.
- Click
Update Options.Note: You may need to refresh your browser to view your new Worksite Information.
